Government Code Section 54970 requires the following appointment list to be posted on an annual basis by December 31st.

Boards, commissions and committees in various areas of interest have been organized to encourage citizens to take an active part in their city's government. A listing of all boards, commissions and committees, a brief description of their function, their meeting times and locations are included on this page for your information. 

You are welcome to attend and are encouraged to volunteer to participate in these programs. The city council appoints the members of boards, commissions, and committees.

Parking and Traffic Commission
(established in 1952) HMC 2.38.
The duties of the Parking and Traffic Commission are to investigate ways and means of improving parking and traffic movements and make appropriate recommendations. City residency is required.  HMC 2.20.030

Parks and Recreation Commission
(established in 1966) HMC 2.32.
The duties of the Parks and Recreation Commission are to study and advise on all matters pertaining to the city's public park and recreation programs. City residency is required.  HMC 2.20.030

Planning Commission
(established in 1945) HMC 2.36.
The Planning Commission has the principal duty of establishing and maintaining the General Plan of the community and advising on physical development, zoning, subdivision proposals and special studies so that community values are maintained and protected. City residency is required.  HMC 2.20.030
