The goal of the Hanford Police Department is to reduce the impact of crime and the fear it causes to victims of those crimes. We further support a policing philosophy that promotes and supports organizational strategies to address the causes of crime and social disorder through problem solving tactics and community/police partnerships.

In 2022, the Hanford Police Department launched the Citizen RIMS program, an interactive tool that allows the public to access incidents, crime data, arrests, missing persons, stolen vehicles and more. The overall goal is to increase transparency and provide more information about crime issues and critical incidents in the City.
