Citizens Police Academy

The Hanford Police department is holding a “Citizen’s Police Academy”. This academy is designed to give interested citizens an in depth view of the police department and the way it works. Topics to be covered are SWAT, Youth programs, patrol operations, investigations, K-9, Gang Task Force, Narcotics Task Force and many others. Participants will see, first- hand, live demonstrations of the capabilities of the police department.

The academy is also the basis for those interested in becoming Citizens on Patrol, our volunteer program. This program is an excellent opportunity for those retired persons, or those with spare time, who would like to serve their community in a volunteer capacity.

The academy will meet on Thurdays nights from 6pm-9m. The tentative start date is May 15, 2014. The academy will run for 11 weeks.

An application is available in the lobby at the police department or may be downloaded below.
