On August 5th, the Hanford City Council placed Measure S - the “Hanford Public Safety and Essential Services Measure
” - on our November 2014 ballot to secure local funds to be spent locally. If enacted, Measure S will generate additional locally-controlled funds for local projects and services, with money that cannot be taken by the State.
Our water system recently failed a drinking water standard. Although this incident was not an emergency, as our customers, you have a right to know what you should do, what happened and what we did to correct this situation.

Due to the ongoing drought conditions, the State Water Resources Control Board has issued Emergency Order 2014-0718-01E, which mandates water suppliers enact certain watering restrictions. On August 26, 2014 the Hanford City Council adopted Urgency Ordinance 14-07, amending the City's Water Use Regulations. This ordinance became effective immediately
